About Geoff Snelling

MY STORY

I was born in north London and have been training clients for over 20 years. I’ve always been very active and found a love for martial arts & boxing from a young age.

I did well at school but when I left I wanted a challenge – physically & mentally, so I joined the British Army (Parachute Regiment). I loved the basic training (Pre-Parachute Selection / P Company) and progressed on to advanced training before receiving my red beret. I went on to become a Physical Training Instuctor and served my country.

When I came out of the army I wanted to continue my career in the fitness industry and carry on helping others to achieve their goals. I decided to go on a Personal Training & Sports Therapy course with Premier Training and Development. I passed with flying colours and headed straight for the West End of London. I worked at Fitness First, London’s first 24hr gym, where I trained a number of celebrities and professional clients.

I wanted to take my martial arts/boxing to a higher level and get more experience so I traveled around the world to study different styles and improve my MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). After a few years of globe trotting I returned back to the UK. I now had far more to offer my clients than just fitness, weights and sports rehab. I had Boxing, BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu), Wrestling, Thai Boxing, Tai Chi and Escrima. My clients loved the variation in training. They never got bored doing the same thing over and over again.

I started competing in different competitions, I won some and lost some, but always learnt from the experience! And kept going. Today I currently hold two gold medals in the Dutch open push hands competition and one gold medal in the British open push hands competition. I’m currently the British middleweight title holder of the Ultimate Fighting Warrior MMA and have defended my title three times. I train my clients, including a number of professionals and celebrities, in Average Joes Gym in Nazeing, Hertfordshire. I’ve always got an open mind and I continue to study the body and mind with new variations of training. I’m never content with the knowledge that I have of training and always push for more. The best project you will ever work on is you!
